Helen Maurine Hall

Longtime Rogers native Helen Maurine Hall (nee Smith), 93, peacefully entered eternity March 19, 2013, in Georgetown, Texas, after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Helen was born Nov. 29, 1919, in Rogers to Archibald Morris Smith and Ida Mae (Barnes) Smith. Helen was baptized at First Baptist Church of Rogers in 1940, and served as church secretary, pianist and organist under the Rev. Rel Grey. She moved to Amarillo, Texas, upon her marriage to L.T. Hall, Feb. 15, 1948. Helen continued her work for the Lord throughout her long life as pianist and organist for churches and missions in eastern Idaho, Broomfield, Colo., Rogers and Monte Ne, Ark. She passed on her love of God to her children. After God, she loved classical music, Liberace, George Beverly Shea, the Teton Mountains of Wyoming and all things pink. Helen and L.T. moved back to Rogers in 1979 upon retiring, then Helen moved to Texas in 2004 to be cared for by her daughter, Marsha. Helen is preceded in death by her husband, L.T. Hall in 1990; and is survived by three children, Rebecca Beam and husband, Frank, of Front Royal, Va., Marsha Guys and husband, Marty, of Georgetown, Texas, and Larry Hall and wife, Andrea, of Lake Elsinore, Calif. She is also survived by grandchildren, Polly Beam of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Ross Beam of Eugene, Ore. Helen was a member of Grace Baptist Church of Rogers since 1998. She will be interred next to her husband at Rogers Cemetery, Westside Lot #245. The public is invited to a short committal service 11 a.m. Friday, April 26, at Rogers Cemetery (southwest section), 510 S. 10th St. A donation to the Alzheimer's Association may be made, in lieu of flowers.
