James L. Moore Jr., 83, of Rison, Arkansas, died Monday, April 23, 2013. James L, referred to by his grandchildren, family and friends as "Daddy Jim", was born July 19, 1929 at home in Rison, the son of James Leon Moore and Grace Tugwell Moore. He grew up in Rison, graduating from Rison High School at age 16. He graduated from Hendrix College, Conway, three years later with a BS degree and then returned to Rison to work in the family businesses, where his raised his family with his beloved wife, Lois, who preceded him in death in 1999. Daddy Jim was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother, I..E. Moore, of Rison. James L. operated Moore's Hardware and a home construction business from Rison, and was the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Rison for many years. When it came time for help, Daddy Jim came to Fayetteville, where he resided in with his children and spent many wonderful days until his death with his new found friends at Flippo Senior Center, Johnson. Survivors include his three sons and their wives: Lee Moore and Lynn, of Fayetteville, Vance Moore and Becky, of Ellisville, Missouri, and Brian (Hootie) Moore and Kristi of Fayetteville. he is survived by nine grandchildren: Jake, Marq and Samantha Moore of Fayetteville, Megan, Molly and Zack Moore of Ellisville, Missouri and Bailey, Ben and Clark Moore of Fayetteville, Arkansas. A private family memorial service will be held in Fayetteville with the family.
