Jean Marie Becker

Jean Marie Becker, 84, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, April 7, 2013, at Highlands Health Care in Bella Vista. She was born Feb. 1, 1929, in San Francisco, Calif., to Arnold Horel and Genevieve (Flaherty) Horel. She moved to Bella Vista in 1995 from Northbrook, Ill. She was a former member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Bentonville, Ark., and a current member of St. Bernard Catholic in Bella Vista, Ark. She was a deacon's wife, lector, eucharistic minister and choir member. She was a member of High Scots Golf League, Five Hole Golf League and Highlands Bridge Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, John P. Becker in 2004. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Niekamp and husband, Dr. Raymond Niekamp, of Austin, Texas, Theresa Becker of Bella Vista, Ark., Joan Martin of Dallas, Texas; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Michael and Christopher. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. with rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel. A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities.
