Dulcie Mae Browder, age 88, of Bentonville, died March 29, 2013, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. She was born in Buck Creek, Okla., on June 5, 1924, to the late Columbus and Cora (Cummins) Hood. Dulcie married William Leonard Carter and 10 children were born to their union. After their divorce, she met Wilbur "Bill" Browder whom, as the story is told, she told that she had $10 million and no children. After they were married on March 3, 1966, he discovered that she had 10 children and no money, but he still became a true father to them. Above all, she was an amazing mother and she raised her children well. Survivors include her children, Rondall Joe Carter (Angie) of San Jose, Calif., Donald Ray Carter (Carolyn) of Bentonville, Leta Faye Ingram of Bentonville, Cora Wyona "Wino" Wyatt (Orval) of Pea Ridge, Thomas Eugene Carter (Sandy) of Buford, Ga., Sondra Mae Bailey (Paul) of Rogers, Jerry Lee Carter (Lori) of Bentonville, Pamela Jean McBroom (Wayne) of Meeteetse, Wyo., Paula Griswold (Gary) of El Cajon, Calif.; a brother, Ray Hood of Pocola, Okla.; 29 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Leonard Carter and Wilbur Fisk "Bill" Browder; sons, William Leroy Carter and Gary Richard Carter; five grandchildren and 10 siblings. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in the Rollins Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Chaplain Jo Jones. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point, Okla. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the American Stroke Association.
