Alvin Martin Seamster, 79, of Garfield died Sept. 26, 2012, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Bentonville to Alvin Augustine and Ella Lorinda Huls Seamster. Buddy was a graduate of Bentonville High School and a college graduate of Arizona State University. Buddy also attended the University of the Ozarks at Clarksville. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1957 as a personnel man aboard the USS Dukes County at Long Beach, Calif. Buddy taught school in the Paradise Valley school system in Arizona, and also the Pea Ridge and Rogers school systems in Arkansas. He served as teacher and principal at the Garfield Elementary School in Garfield, Ark. After retiring from the education field, Buddy worked for the Walmart Fuji Photo Express as a route driver for nine years. He was a long-time member of Garfield First Baptist Church. Buddy was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Betty Mason Seamster in 2007; also his parents, Alvin and Ella Seamster; his three sisters, Yvonne White, Mary Scholze, Alice Riley; and one brother, Bill Seamster. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Scotty Mulkey; son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Melissa Seamster; six grandchildren, Jeremy VanScoy, Josh Pratt, Morgan Seamster, Titus Artt, Duncan Artt, all of Garfield, and Ashley Mulkey of Rogers; brother, Charlie Adams of Texas; and one great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bentonville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge.
