Joy Locklear McGuffey

Joy Locklear McGuffey, age 92, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, in Fayetteville. She was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Daniel and Fannie Robertson Howard. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd McGuffey. She was a retired office manager, a Christian Scientist, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by a son, Bob Shackelford and his wife, Asuncion, and her mother, Cecilia Soriano, all of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Robert W. Shackelford of Fayetteville, Ark., Julie A. McClain and her husband, Danny, of West Fork, Ark., Christine Marie Shackelford of Fayetteville, Ark.; two great-grandchildren, Will and Alex McClain. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Moore's Chapel. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
