Mary Ellen Stone

Mary Ellen Stone, 70, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Legacy Village in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Jan. 20, 1942, in Loup City, Neb., the daughter of Catherine Christine Clark and Albert Joseph Moore. She had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 10 years after moving from Broken Bow, Neb. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church of Bentonville. She was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking. She and her husband owned and operated Stone Roofing Company in Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Anthony Albert Stone; one grandson, Brandt Mattox; and one sister, VJ Lemmer. Mary is survived by her husband, Irwin Stone of the home, whom she married Sept. 3, 1960; one daughter, Catherine Stone-Stecklein and her husband, Christopher, of Hindsville, Ark.; one brother, Albert Lansbury Moore and his wife, Alfie, of North Platte, Neb.; one sister, Sharon Fitzpatrick of Dallas, Texas; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be Friday, Sept. 28, at 9 a.m. at Bentonville Cemetery.
