Ruth LaVerne Grayson

Former Boone County Judge and Health Dept Supervisor, LaVerne Grayson, died September 23, 2012, at Harrison, Ark. LaVerne was a member of Methodist Church, Arkansas State Employee Assoc Dist 13 Director; Arkansas Public Health Rep from Arkansas; ARC State Service Council Member and Past Chairperson; she was Boone County's first female Judge. She was a proud Goblin and Arkansas Razorback supporter. She is survived by her four sons and wives, sevem grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and a sister. Dr. Bill Baker, then President of North Arkansas College, may have summed it up best when he said, "LaVerne has been a tremendous leader and supporter for North Arkansas College. During her lifetime, she has proven that women can raise a family, attain career goals, and become community leaders. She's a real role model for other women across the state." Services 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at First United Methodist Church in Harrison. Burial in Maple Leaf Cemetery under direction of Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
