Jewell Dean (Judy) Mofley, age 92, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sept. 17, 2012, at Ozark Riverview Manor in Ozark, Mo. She was born the second of nine children July 5, 1920, in Comanche County, Okla., to John Franklin Price and Velma (Peterson) Price. Her family relocated to Lowell, Ark., when she was eight. She married Alvin Earl Mofley on April 13, 1941, and bore a son, Robert Earl Mofley, in October 1942. She and her husband moved to St. Louis, Mo., in 1945 after Alvin's discharge from the Army Air Force at the end of WWII. While there, she worked as a money-counter at the downtown headquarters of Famous-Barr & Company. In February of 1957, the family moved to Houston, Texas, where in 1959, she graduated from beauty school and began working as a beauty operator, a profession that turned out to be a life-long passion. In 1961, she purchased her own business, Manor Beauty Shop, which she ran successfully for many years. In 1989, she and Alvin moved to Rogers, Ark. Alvin passed away in 1999. Her last years were spent in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities in the Springfield, Mo., area near her son. Throughout her life, she was active in the churches she attended, frequently serving in the women's groups. Judy was a world traveler and she and Alvin participated in several mission trips, some as far away as Paris, France. She was a very generous person, whether it came to tipping the waitress or helping the less fortunate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; brothers, John F. Price Jr. and Clyde M. Price; and sister, Genevieve Price Mofley. She is survived by her son, Robert Mofley of Ozark, Mo.; grandsons, Guy A. Mofley of Houston, Texas, and Bryan K. Mofley of Rio Rancho, N.M.; sisters, Berniece Price Kincy of Lowell, Ark., Nadine Price Hankins of DesMoines, Iowa, and Ellen Price Weber of Rogers, Ark.; brothers, William Price of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and Joe Wayne Price of Longview, Texas. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, with services beginning at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Interment will be at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. Arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home of Rogers. Online condolences may be made at www.rollinsfuneral.com.
