Vol Campbell Blevins

Vol Campbell Blevins, age 88, of Rogers died Sept. 17, 2012, at Heritage Park Nursing Center. He was born in Rogers on July 27, 1924, to the late Ray Irwin Blevins and Ruth (Campbell) Blevins. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in Patton's 3rd Army Tank Destroyers. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lowell. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Loneta Blevins of Rogers; sons, Randy Blevins of Rogers, Rick Blevins and wife, Kathy, of Rogers, Brian Blevins of Lincoln; grandchildren, Kyle Blevins of Rogers, Joshua Blevins of Little Rock, Morgan Blevins of Rogers, Quinn Blevins of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Carlyee Blevins and Banks Blevins; and four nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, one sister; and a son, Vol Douglas "Zephyr" Blevins. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at First Baptist Church in Lowell. Burial follows at 1 p.m. at Pace Chapel Cemetery near Garfield. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be made to the donor's favorite charity.
