Barbara Lea Gibson Wright

Barbara Lea Gibson Wright, 65, a resident of Port Townsend, Wash., passed away Sept. 11, 2012, at her home. She was born Aug. 11, 1947, in Battle Creek, Mich., the daughter of James Eugene and Frances Waite Gibson. Barbara Lea attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and the Port Townsend, Washington Historical Society and excelled at historic performance. She was also a talented artist and an aspiring author. She was preceded in death by her father; and one sister, Margaret Ann Beckman. Survivors include her husband, David Robert Wright; one son, Douglas Gierow and wife, Sarah, of Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Michael Kevin Gibson and wife, Katherine, of Seatle, Wash., and James Patrick Gibson and wife, Sheila, of Cripple Creek, Colo.; her mother, Frances Waite of Washington; two stepbrothers, Bobby Jack Spears and Bud Cox, both of Lincoln; one niece, Julie Beckman-Key of Austin, Texas. Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, 10 a.m. at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Ganderville Cemetery in Summers; there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Ark.
