Billy "Bill" Max Thornton, 70, of Rogers died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born in Porterville, Calif., the son of Lois Linton and Arlon Thornton. He had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 25 years after moving from Guthrie, Okla. He was a plumber for over 50 years and owned and operated A-1 Plumbing. He loved people and family; he never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill is survived by his wife, Oleta Gail Thornton of the home, whom he married July 16, 1988; three sons, David Thornton of Pompano Beach, Fla., Mark Thornton and his wife, Natalie, of Bella Vista, Billy Thornton and his wife, Donna, of Guthrie, Okla.; one daughter, Amanda Thornton Ward and her husband, Brian, of Centerton; four brothers, Jerry Thornton and his wife, Valita, J.W. Thornton and his wife, Bobby, Foy Thornton and his wife, Francis, Jim Thornton and his wife, Twila; one stepson, Vincent Jennings; two stepdaughters, Natalie Cox and Gail O'Neil; and 17 grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, from 2 until 4 p.m. at Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville. Graveside service Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Non Cemetery in Non, Okla.
