James "Shan" Edley Foster, 79, of Prairie Grove, died Sept. 11, 2012, in Springdale. He was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Olney, Texas, the son of Ben and Ada Brock Foster. Shan served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict; he was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nina Herd; and two brothers, Tun Foster and Demp Foster. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Barbara Foster; one son, Shan "Jr" Foster and fiancee, Emy Bunnell of Rhea's Mill; one daughter, Mandy Foster and fiance, Jeff Roberts of Prairie Grove; one granddaughter, Taylor Foster; one sister-in-law, Anita Foster of Lubbock, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with burial in Wedington Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Tommy Pergeson, Doug DeVault, Ray Boatright, Scott Gragg, John Gragg and Jeff Roberts. Arrangements are under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove.
