Christal Michelle LaFera

Christal Michelle LaFera, age 34, of Bentonville passed away Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. She was born in Batesville, Ark., on April 10, 1978. She was a 1996 graduate of Bentonville High School and was a student at the Northwest Arkansas campus of the University of Phoenix. She is survived by her parents, Thomas and Beverly (Allender) LaFera; brothers, Christopher Michael LaFera of Batesville, Thomas Adam LaFera of Bentonville; and paternal grandfather, Thomas Joseph LaFera of Bentonville; several aunts, uncles and cousins, and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Launa Ruth (Bickers) LaFera; maternal grandparents, Carl and Oleta Allender; and an uncle, Billy Allender. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at First Assembly of God in Bentonville, officiated by pastor Mike Nichols of Evangel Temple in Fort Smith. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be made to the Northwest Arkansas Children's Shelter, 14100 Vaughn Road, Bentonville, 72712.
