Bruce John Nicometo

Bruce John Nicometo, 64, of Springdale died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, in Springdale. He was born June 26, 1948, in Batavia, N.Y., the son of John Nicometo and Mary Szymanski Nicometo. He married the former Linda Mae Bredice at Lake Tahoe on July 4, 1983. He was a graduate of the U of A and adjunct professor of sociology at NWACC, where he also served as an academic advisor. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church and loved gardening, music and great food. He taught martial arts for several years and also served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Linda Nicometo of the home; son, Henry Daniel "Seth" Nicometo of Dallas, Texas; two stepchildren, Jim and Jackie Coyle, both of California; two brothers and three sisters. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at Moore's Chapel, with burial to follow in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
