Audrey I. Phelps

Audrey I. Phelps, 89, of Boynton Beach, Fla., passed away Sept. 6, 2012, in the home of her daughter in Gravette. She was born May 26, 1923, in New York, N.Y., the daughter of Alexander K. and Erna Schoelan Matheeff. She was a math teacher at Stout Jr. High in Dearborn, Mich., and a University of Michigan alumni. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Alexander; and sisters, Sonya and Helen. Survivors: her husband, Rex Phelps of the home; they were married April 3, 1948; son, Rex D. Phelps and wife, Emily, of Mount Clemens, Mich.; daughter, Sharon P. Copelin and husband, Kelly, of Gravette; sister, Olga Phillips and husband, Harold, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth, Rogers, with Chaplain Jo Jones officiating.
