James Raymond Scott

James Scott, 49, of Avoca, Ark., died at his home Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Mamie Kouri; father, Gerald Scott; mother, Ruth Kouri; and sister, Candice Ann Rhea. James is survived by the mother of his children, Shannon Messner, of Mangum, Okla.; three children, Patricia Dawn Scott of New York, Remington Scott and Elisha Vaughn Scott, both of Oklahoma City; one grandchild, Havik Bronson of New York; and one sister, Joanna Ruth Kouri of Oklahoma City. James worked 15 years for the Benton County Water Department. He was a loving father, protective brother, and always had something witty to say to make people laugh. He loved to ride motocross and shoot guns. He enjoyed all kinds of music and was an avid reader. James will be dearly missed and was greatly loved. A memorial service will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the VFW on Old Wire Road in Avoca, Ark. During the memorial service, friends and family are welcome to share thoughts and memories.
