Della Marie Sikes

Della Marie Meyer Sikes, 89, of Gentry, Ark., died Oct. 23, 2012, at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab, Siloam Springs, Ark. Born Aug. 5, 1923, in Okarche, Okla., she was the daughter of Charlie Meyer and Jessie Miller Meyer. She married Bob Lee Sikes on July 12, 1943, in Benton County, Ark. She had worked at Franklin Electric prior to her retirement and was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church, Gentry, Ark. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Lee Sikes; two sisters; three brothers; and one grandson, Roy Lee Sikes. Survivors include one daughter, Dixie Lowery of Siloam Springs, Ark.; three sons, Bill Sikes of Goodrich, Texas, Tommy Sikes and wife, Sue, of Gentry, Ark., and Bobby Sikes Jr. and wife, Deborah, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Gaug of Harper, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Victory Missionary Baptist Church, Gentry, Ark., with Pastor Dennis Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Bozarth Cemetery, near Gentry, Ark. Visitation will be 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark.
