Alan Dale Fields, 81, of Cave Springs died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Cave Springs to Claude and Emma Ford Fields. He was a truck mechanic for Willis Shaw for 49 years. He was a volunteer fireman for 28 years with the Cave Springs Fire Department. He was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and camp. He served in the United States Army. He enjoyed cutting quilt blocks. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Samuel, Fred and Melvin Fields. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Fields of 60 years; one daugher, Jean Ann Ferguson and husband, Howard, of Springdale; one son, Alvin Dale Fields of Cameron, Mo.; four grandchildren, Duane Ferguson, Deana Dickey, Rose Ann Huber and Jason Fields; eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 26, at 2 p.m. at Brush Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Memorials may be made to the Cave Springs Fire Department, 128 E. Midway Ave., Cave Springs, AR 72718.
