Arthur Edward Bourquin, 75, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at his home. He was born Jan. 30, 1937, in Honda, Texas, the son of Lydia Schnider and Edward John Bourquin. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 until 1958 where he received an Honorable Discharge. Art loved to fish, hunt, and tell jokes. His laugh is an unforgettable gift to everyone that knew him. He loved his family. He grew up in San Antonio, Texas. Moved to Iowa City, Iowa and lived in Northwest Arkansas since 1974. He retired from McIlroy Bank/ARVEST in 1999. He was preceded in death by: his parents, and one sister Irene Manning. Art is survived by his wife, Wanda Bourquin; two daughters, Teri Bourquin of Fayetteville, Ark., Joy Brown of Wimberley, Texas; two brothers, Herbert Bourquin and wife, Dorothy, of Floresville, Texas, Wilbert Bourquin of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters, Agnes Schroeter and husband, Wes, of San Antonio, Texas, Rosalie Pierson and husband, Dick, of Arlington, Texas, Charlotte Keller and husband, Al, of San Antonio, Texas; and five grandchildren, Dallas Bourquin, Krista Bourquin, Joshua Woods, Jonathan Woods, all four of Fayetteville, Ark., and Johnny Walker Brown, of Adkins, Texas. The family would like to thank Dr. Glenda Patterson, Nurse Courtney, Nurse Crystal and Hospice Nurse Martha for the love and care they gave Art, and all the other doctors and nurses that cared for him. The Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard will offer full military honors and will be scheduled at National Cemetery in Fayetteville at a later date, check Epting Funeral Home's website for date and iime.
