Maudie M. Smith, age 94, of Bentonville, passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 27, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. Maudie was born in Deer, Ark., on May 12, 1918, to Wesley and Mary (Kuhn) Davis. She had lived in Bentonville for the last 15 years and was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and her daughter, Geneivie Smith of Fayetteville. Maudie is survived by one daughter, Betty Evans of Bentonville; two grandsons, Michael Bowman of Rogers, David Bowman of Bentonville; and one great-granddaughter, Kayla Bowman of Bella Vista; three sisters and one brother of Rogers. Maudie was employed at the Levi Strauss of Fayetteville for over 38 years. She was a homemaker and loved gardening. She loved working with flowers and had many African violets in her home. She always said her long life was attributed to hard work and clean living. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012, at Benton County Memorial Park (3800 W. Walnut) in Rogers. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Benton County Memorial Park's Funeral Home Chapel (3800 W. Walnut) in Rogers, with Brother David Holmes officiating. Interment will follow at Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
