Roy Dean 'Deanie' Phillips

Roy Dean "Deanie" Phillips, age 77, of West Fork, went peacefully to be with The Lord on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was born Aug. 22, 1935, in Goshen, Ark., the son of Roy and Mae Phillips. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Phillips, and two sisters, Doris Wages and Barbara Mahan, both of Fayetteville, Ark. Dean was a retired truck driver for Tyson Foods and an avid golfer. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Shelton-Tucker VFW Post in Fayetteville, Ark. Dean attended Blackburn Community Church in Winslow, Ark. He is survived by a daughter, Connie Ramey and her husband, Billy of West Fork, Ark.; three sons, Coy Phillips, Curtis Phillips and Doug Phillips and his wife, Beth, all of Winslow; five grandsons, Derrick Phillips, Kyle Phillips, Leslie Ramey and Blake Phillips and Harrison Phillips; two great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Albree Phillips; a brother, Leslie Phillips of Vallejo, Calif.; and a sister, Louise Triska of Goshen, Ark.; three sisters-in-law, Marsha Cooley, Leta McGuire and Gay Harp. Dean also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and will be greatly missed by many friends and family members, but especially his closest friends, "Whitey" Paul Martin, Don E. McNaughton and Terry McNaughton. He is also survived by his closest companion, "Two Toes," his Brittany spaniel. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Moore's Chapel. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Thursday at Moore's Chapel with burial in the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
