Ann Melson Acre

Anna "Ann" Fern Melson Acre, 74, of Winslow died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 at a local healthcare center. She was born Oct. 27, 1938, in Oark, Ark., the daughter of Anna Marie Evans and Odis "Tobe" Earl Melson. She served her country in the United States Air Force for over two years; after she chose to get married, she received an honorable discharge. She enjoyed attending auctions with her husband. She was a homemaker. Preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lawrence Joseph Acre in 2008; and one brother, Billy E. Melson. Ann is survived by her husband, David Acre, of the home, whom she married April 8, 1961, in San Antonio, Texas; one son, Michael D. Acre of Prairie Grove; two brothers, Dolen E. Melson of Huntsville and Mark S. Melson and his wife, Mary Anna of Huntsville. A memorial service will be announced at a later date by the family. Inurnment will take place at Fayetteville National Cemetery. Memorials to Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude's Hospital. Arrangements by Epting Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
