Alice Maxine Pruitt, 88, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Anderson, Mo. She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Springfield, Mo., to Bruce McGarrah and Cora Idora Ingersol McGarrah. She worked at Dearborn Stove Company and Union Carbide before retiring. She loved playing Bingo and taking road trips with her friends. Maxine always worked hard, loved to laugh, was a great cook and loved flowers, often traveling to Azalea festivals. She was preceded in death by husband, William Denver Pruitt, in 1994; twin sister, Marie Thomas; sister, Bernice Gobel; and one brother, Barnard McGarrah. Maxine is survived by two sons, Mike Pruitt of Bentonville, Mitchell Pruitt and wife, Sammie, of Bentonville; two grandchildren, Ruben Pruitt and wife, Amanda, Dallas Pruitt and wife, Rachel; and four great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Carson Major and Ethan. Maxine is also survived by many nieces, grandnieces and -nephews from both sides of the family. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with Pastor Paul Lester officiating. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, west of Hiwasse. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 210 N. Walton Blvd., #25, Bentonville, AR 72712.
