Juliet Caruana Eaves, 87, of Spartanburg died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012. Born June 29, 1925, in Sliema, Malta, the daughter of the late John Edmund and Maria Stella Caruana. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Cary Duncan Eaves. She was a graduate of the Sacred Heart Convent in Malta. Juliet was quite proud of her Maltese heritage and always delighted in her trips back to her homeland for special visits with dear friends and loving family. Juliet came to the United States after WWII to pursue a business career. She met her late husband in New York. Before moving to Spartanburg, Juliet lived with her husband and children in Fayetteville, Ark., where she enjoyed an active life as the wife of a university professor and was also a very successful realtor. She was an active volunteer with numerous charitable organizations in Fayetteville and Spartanburg and devoted many hours to Mobile Meals, both delivering meals and helping out in the office. Juliet was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church having served as a reader. Juliet lived life to the fullest, enjoyed each and every day, loved the laughter and friendship of her many friends and especially spending time with her family and her beloved grandchildren. Juliet is survived by three daughters, Frances Merriman Eaves of Atlanta, Ga., Louisa and husband, David Berry of Spartanburg, Caroline and husband, Philip Cameron of Fayetteville, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Juliet Berry, David and Brooksie Berry, Duncan Berry, Virginia Berry, Cary Cameron, Matthew Cameron and Mark Cameron; and one brother, Maurice Caruana of Cambridge, England. She was predeceased by one sister, Nella Dixon; and five brothers, Gerald, George, Lenny, Paul and Wilfred Caruana. A funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Spartanburg. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather at the home of Dr. and Mrs. David P. Berry to celebrate Juliet's full and rich life. Interment will be 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Union, S.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church Building Fund, 161 North Dean Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; Mobile Meals, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304; or the charity of one's choice.
