Monica Lynn Alsup, 45, of Gravette, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, Ark. She was born March 1, 1967, in Sapulpa, Okla., to Jerry Dean Hendrix and Joy Evelyn Hicks Hendrix. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in agricultural education and worked for Tyson as an assistant chemist for over 13 years. Monica enjoyed attending and entering dog shows. She loved her sweet dog "Sadie," an English Cocker Spaniel, a show dog that won many competitions. She is preceded in death by her father on Jan. 13, 2000; stepfather, Joe Van Landingham in 2007; and a nephew, Jerry Van Landingham in 2006. Monica is survived by her husband of 24 years, Kevin Alsup; her mother, Joy Van Landingham of Sapulpa, Okla.; one brother, Brad Walker of Las Vegas, Nev.; stepbrother, John Van Landingham and wife, Patti, of Farmington, N.M.; father- and mother-in-law, Dennis and Camelia Alsup of Rogers, Ark.; grandmother-in-law, Chris Alsup of Gravette, Ark.; brother- and sister-in- law, Tim and Eileen Alsup, and their children, Brittney and Callie, all of Rogers. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 322 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105; or to the ECSCA, Karen Spurlin, treasurer, P.O. Box 760, Tracyton, WA 98393-0760. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Chapel in Rogers, with the Rev. Jordan Dickens officiating.
