Archie C Adams

Archie C. Adams, 77 of Winslow passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1934, in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of Robert Nelson Murray Adams and Jane McCreadie Anderson Adams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War era and a retired machinist. He volunteered as a hunter safety instructor for more than 20 years. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Eleanor Marie Adams, two brothers, Alexander and Robert Adams, two sisters, Jean Smith and Agnes McDonough. He is survived by his brother, William Adams of Treasure Island, Fla.; three sons, Nelson Adams and wife Beverly of Winslow, Eric Adams of Winslow and Howard Sanderson of Farmington; two daughters, Donna Mounce of Winslow and Linda Temple and husband Robert of Winfield Park, N.J.; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 PM, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Beard's Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 4 PM with Pastor Perry Hall Officiating. A Private burial will be held at a later date at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Fayetteville.
