JAMES "JIM" HERBERT GREEN, 80, of North Little Rock, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 23, 2012. He was born June 24, 1931, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lula Green of Cash, Arkansas; his first wife, Barbara Gail Green; and one infant son, Patrick Duane Green. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen Marie Green; three sons, Steve (Carolina) Green of Ward, Ark., Tim (Sandra) Green of Ward, Ark., Rick (Ila) Green of North Little Rock, Ark.; one stepson, Wayne Lowery of Sherwood, Ark.; and eight grandchildren, Cole Green of Beebe, Josh Green of Ward, Casey Green of Oak Grove, Jacob Green of Beebe, Brad Green of Cabot, Tyler Green of Cabot, Katelyn Green of Ward, Erin Green of North Little Rock; three step-grandsons; one great-grandson, Jayden Green; one sister, Sharon Green; one nephew, Matt Whitney and wife, Heather of North Little Rock and a host of other family and friends, church members, and many employees he thought of as his family. He was a graduate of Valley View High School. He graduated from Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas in May, 1951. Then he served four years with a tour of duty in Korea. Jim, along with his father-in-law, Cy Chapman bought Warden Oil in 1956 and established Green & Chapman Oil Co. He served as a deacon of Rose City Immanuel Baptist Church and the Church at Willow Beach. He was a great servant of the Lord. Through his testimony many were lead to our Lord, Jesus Christ. Every day he would pray, thanking God for his family and for the salvation and safety of his employees. When leaving Dad's house after a visit, his last words were always, "I love you." Services will be at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, Ark., (501-791-7400), Monday, March 26, 2012 at 1:30 p.m., with Brother Roy Tilley officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 4–6 p.m. Burial will be at Edgewood Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons; honorary pallbearer, Jack Estell.
