Sylvia Patton

Sylvia Patton, 81, of North Little Rock passed away on March 10 at Heritage Living Center in Conway. Before becoming disabled, Mrs. Patton was a farm wife and gardener. She never met a stranger and was known throughout the community for her big heart and the love she felt for her family, especially her granddaughters. Mrs. Patton was the daughter of the late John and Pearl (Nelson) Cranford of Cave Mountain in Newton County. She was born September 11, 1930 at the Jack Johnson homestead near Cave Mountain. Mrs. Patton was a resident of Swain for 44 years before moving to North Little Rock. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Tina Patton of North Little Rock; two granddaughters, Sarah Patton of North Little Rock and Rachel Tidwell of Murphysboro, Ill.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewey and Nellie Cranford of Aurora, Johnny and Lou Cranford of Westville, Okla., and Troy and Patty Cranford of Harrison. She is also survived by nine nieces and three nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Patton of Swain and one brother, Orville Cranford of Swain. Funeral services will be held at Coffman Funeral Home on Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m. with the Rev Miles Cook of North Little Rock officiating. Burial will follow at Kapark Cemetery. An open visitation will be held at Coffman from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 16 and again from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Dennis, Paul and Holden Brasel, Ron Cranford, Dan Hill and Adam Tidwell. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Arkansas, 201 Markham Center Drive, Little Rock, Ark. 72205-1409.
