Rita LaVerne Harger

Rita LaVerne Harger passed away June 22, 2012, at her home in Garfield, Ark. She was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Lyle and Margaret (Haynes) Van Kirk. On Dec. 20, 1956, she married Robert Harger in Chicago, Ill. Survivors include her husband, Bob of the home; two sons, Garry (Susie), Bella Vista, Ark., James (June), Rogers, Ark.; two daughters, Julie Skach (David), Bentonville, Ark., Nancy Bailey (Paul), Checotah, Okla.; one grandchild, Jordan Havens; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Seth and Rune Havens; and a sister, Virginia Hampton, Fla. Visitation was on Sunday, June 24, 2012, at Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney, Kan. Funeral service was on Monday, June 25, 2012, also at Schmitt Funeral Home. Interment in the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, WaKeeney. Memorials to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 N. 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672.
