Lawton Lenn Threet, age 86, of Fayetteville, died Friday, July 27, 2012, in Fayetteville. He was a member of Sang Avenue Baptist church and he loved gardening. He was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Sheridan, Ark., the son of Armo and Beatrice Sweeney Threet. He worked many years at Northwest Oil as an accountant, was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and was a World War II Army veteran. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Threet of the home; one daughter, Carolyn Brooks of Van Buren, Ark.; a son, Johnny Presley of Wesley, Ark.; two stepdaughters, Mary Beth Canfield of West Fork, Ark., and Teresa Seely of Winslow, Ark.; one sister, Carolyn Pate of Lawton, Okla.; a brother, Monroe Threet of Coos Bay, Ore.; one grandson, Chad Brooks; two great-grandchildren, River Brooks and Taylor Brooks; and two brothers-in-law, Alvin Herrington of Jacksonville, Ark., and Bobby Herrington of Springdale, Ark. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, at Moore's Chapel, with interment at Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Moore's Chapel. Officiating will be Dr. T.O. Spicer.
