Melvin Edward White, 90, of Hindsville, passed away July 20, 2012, at his home. He was born March 24, 1922, in Sweetwater, Okla., to the late Jesse Allen and Nadine Stout White. Retired from Jones Truck Line, he was a member of Hindsville First Baptist Church since 1971, where he was ordained as a deacon. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leroy White; sister, Maureen Smith; and grandson, Scotty Edward White. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elsie Marie Scott White; children, Michael Dwayne White and wife, Frances Kay, of Marble, Ark., Rita Rae Nelson and husband, Floyd, of Hindsville, and Timothy Dwight White and wife, Vickie, of Springdale; sister, Faye McGarrah and husband, Harold, of Cave Springs; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Hindsville, with Bro. Les Elam and Bro. Jonathan Reichman officiating.
