Mark Lee Armer

Mark Lee Armer was born Aug. 29, 1974, to Wanda Westbrook Armer and Bobby Lee Armer in Springdale, Ark. Mark passed at the age of 37 on June 25, 2012, in Palm Springs, Calif. Mark is survived by his father, three brothers and two sisters: Bobby Dale Armer and wife, Juli, of Springdale, Robin Smith and husband, Donny, of Springdale, Katrena Pianalto and husband, Tony, of Hindsville, Billy Ray Tennison and Tony Tennison of Northwest Arkansas. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda, and stepfather, Charles White. Mark has more than nine nephews and nieces and four great-nephews and nieces. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Mark attended Springdale schools. He later received an associate's degree in culinary arts at the St. Louis Community College in St. Louis, Mo. Mark lived in several major cities including Memphis, Tenn., St. Louis, Mo., Philadelphia, Pa., and Rancho Mirage, Calif., where he last resided. He worked for the Sheraton in St. Louis while in school, and later worked at Williams-Sonoma, in different cities, where he taught culinary classes for several years. Mark also worked as a private chef, respectively. Mark loved cooking and took pride in the food he prepared. He loved to talk cooking with others who were passionate about the art, also. Mark loved traveling, and his most significant travels included trips to England, the Netherlands, Italy, and most recently, India. He also traveled to Mexico and the Caribbean on numerous cruises. Being a "foodie," Mark enjoyed exploration of the regional cuisine during his travels. Mark loved animals, and left behind a cat and two dogs in the care of friends. A private memorial service will be forthcoming.
