Eugene Henry 'Gene' Cloer

Eugene Henry "Gene" Cloer, 81, of Lowell, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Veterans Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Springdale, to Theodore Roosevelt and Claudia Mae Alstott Cloer. Gene served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of Fishback Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He married Patsy Ann "Pat" (Cooper) Cloer on Aug. 14, 1950, in Springdale. She preceded him in death earlier this year on Feb. 3. He is survived by three children, Joyce Wright of Lowell, Debbie Nations and husband, Morris, of Fayetteville, Mike Cloer and wife, Carolyn, of Elkins; a brother, Ronnie Cloer of Lowell; two sisters, Doris Mobbs of Lowell, Rosetta Jackson of Big Timber, Mont.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, July 23, at Heritage Funeral Home in Springdale, with Pastors Howard Owens and Paul Eden officiating. Interment will be at Wilson Cemetery.
