Maurine Slates

Maurine Slates, 98, passed away July 17, 2012 in Fort Smith. She was retired from the Fort Smith Public School System and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary with private burial in Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home. She is survived by her son, Bill "Bebo" Slates and his wife Davie, of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
