Charles W. 'Pop' Alexander

Charles W. Alexander, "Pop," age 68, of Springdale, Ark., passed away Sunday, June 15, 2012, at the Regency Hospital Company in Springdale. Charles was born on Aug. 19, 1943, in Anniston, Ala., a son of Lawrence B. Alexander and Ona Wynette (Padgett) Alexander. He worked as a purchasing agent for American Tubing Inc. in Springdale; he enjoyed fishing, boating and loved spending time with his family. With his caring demeanor and wise advice, he was known as a father figure to many. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Kay (Wolfe) Alexander; three sons, Charles W. Alexander Jr. "Chuck" and wife, Michelle, of Fayetteville, Michael Alan Alexander and wife, Tina Hutchins Alexander, of Oxford, Ala., and Mitchell "Shane" Alexander of Springdale; seven grandchildren, Courtney Adams, Jeremy Alexander, Justin Alexander, Taylor Alexander, Madison Alexander, Johnathan Carlsmith and Kristian Carlsmith; two great-grandchildren, Lanie and Amelia; one brother, Johnnie L. Alexander and wife, Joan, of Bymun, Ala.; one sister, Linda Alexander McDaniel and husband, Billy, of Kennesaw, Ga.; sister in-law and brother in-law, Darlene and Dr. Manuel DeLosSantos of San Antonio, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Ona Alexander. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Springdale, Ark.
