Thomas M. Gotcher Sr.

Rev. Thomas M. Gotcher Sr., 68, of Fordyce, went home to be with the Lord on Friday July 13, 2012 at his home in Fordyce. Mr. Gotcher was born in Little Rock, Ark. to the late Mark Reed and Lavana Bland Gotcher. Brother Gotcher was an ordained Assembly of God Minister for over 35 years, pastoring in Sherwood, Lonoke, Rogers, Fort Smith, Pine Bluff, Hot Springs, and Hampton. He served as the administrator of the Hillcrest Childrens Home of the Assemblies of God for 5 years, and served as Executive Presbyter for over 15 years for the Arkansas District of the Assemblies of God. Brother Gotcher loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Glenda Gotcher; a son, Mark Gotcher and his wife, Laura of Russellville, Ark.; two daughters, Lori Cornella and her husband, Anthony of Cave Springs, Ark., Lisa Daniel and her husband, Kent of Fort Smith, Ark.; a brother, Richard Gotcher and his wife, Susie of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, LaJuan Bridges and her husband, Steve of Fort Smith, Ark.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother Gotcher was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. T.J. Gotcher, and Mr. and Mrs. James Bland. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012, at the First Assembly of God Church in Russellville. Burial will be in North New Home Cemetery in Dover, Ark., with the Rev. Larry Moore, and Rev. B.L. Blann officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. The family will also have a visitation from 12 until 2 p.m. Monday, at the First Assembly of God Church in Russellville. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
