Norman Leroy Wagoner

Norman Leroy Wagoner, 74, went to his heavenly home on June 13, 2012. He was born on Aug. 22, 1937, in Hays, Kan., to Lee and Lucille Wagoner. After graduating from Rogers High School, Norman served in the Army, worked several jobs including the railroad and Skelly Oil Company until 1974 when he moved to Eufaula, Okla., and opened Wagoner's Hardware Store. In 1984, Norman devoted his life to full-time missions serving the North American Mission Board in over nine countries. A charter member of the Oklahoma Disaster Relief Team, Norman was awarded the Robert E. Dixon award for serving 38 years in disaster relief ministering in over 40 locations. Norman was a founding father of World Changers, served with the Baptist Builders, taught RAs and was the Men's Ministry Brotherhood leader for six years. He was a member of North Fork Baptist Church. Norman is survived by his wife, Flo; daughter, Ramona Mays of Eufaula, Okla.; granddaughter, Christina Jackson (Ken); great-granddaughter, Haylee Jackson of Cicero, Ind.; granddaughters, Victoria Mays of Eufaula and Laura Mays of Cicero, Ind.; son, Norman L. Wagoner Jr. (Susie) of Bismarck, Ark.; granddaughters, Tera Herington (Michael) of Bryant, Ark., Allyssa Wagoner of Crookston, Minn.; stepdaughters, Connie Willeford of Garland, Texas, Kay Garrison and Gwen Lee, both of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, Darrell (Mary), and sisters, Annalee Runge and Elvena Walters, all of Rogers, Ark.; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a lifetime of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Marvin and Robert Wagoner; and his first wife, Martha. Services were held Saturday, June 16, 2012, at North Fork Baptist Church, Eufaula, Okla. Burial followed in the Tuck's Chapel Cemetery, Rogers, Ark. Memorials may be made to the BGCO Disaster Relief Fund, 3800 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73112-6506.
