Ronald Gene Carper

Ronald Gene Carper, 75, has gone from earth to Heaven because of the blood of Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior. He was born the son of Gaylord F. and Isabelle Carper of Quincy, Ill., on March 27, 1937. He married Barbara Ann Hackworth, June 6, 1958, at Bible Baptist Church in Quincy, Ill. Faithful member of Kindred Hearts class Cross Church of Springdale, Ark., for 22 years. Ron had attended several trade schools and acquired skills of welding, clock building, mechanics and truck paint/body rebuilding. Ron had retired after 10 years at J.B. Hunt as a truck-paint and body re-builder. He graduated from jewelry design and clock repair at the School of Horology in Quincy, Ill. It was fascinating to watch him repair and re-build clocks. He enjoys the Denver Broncos and Arkansas Razorback football. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was married to one wife for 54 years and leaves behind four wonderful children: two sons, Michael Alan Carper of Wichita, Kan. (fiancee, Sherrill Herndon), Jeffrey Forrest Carper of Colorado Springs, Colo., and wife, Tricia; two daughters, Charissa Kim Sims of Westminster, Colo., and husband, Eric II; Ramona Sabby of Edwardsville, Ill., husband, Dr. Jeff Sabby, an astrophysicist. He has 12 beautiful grandchildren; and a surviving sister, Linda Stoner of Quincy, Ill., and husband, James; two brothers-in-law, the Rev. Jack Hackworth (wife, Patsy) of Mansfield, Ohio, and the Rev. John Hackworth of Columbus, Ohio (wife, Rebecca); and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. Funeral services will be Monday, July 16, 2012, at noon at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
