Robert Eugene (Gene) Sivage, 86, of Fayetteville, passed away on July 7, 2012, in Fayetteville. He was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Fayetteville to Bert and Eva Patterson Sivage, the youngest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings. Gene graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1943 and served in the U.S. Army in World War II. His first job was stock clerk for F.W. Woolworth. He retired in 1986 from Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) after 42 years in construction building and maintaining power lines. Gene and Jean (he introduced he and his wife as "Just a pair of Jeans") loved to camp and spent a lot of time camping and attending monthly luncheons with Horse Shoe Bend Campers. He never met a stranger and especially enjoyed time with his daughter and her family. Gene was a faithful member of Trinity Fellowship Assembly of God and held many positions in the church over the years, including teacher, Sunday school superintendent, deacon and serving on various committees. He is survived by the love of his life, Imogene (Jean) Little Sivage of 66-plus years; daughter, Nita (Paul) Baker; granddaughter, Danita (Scott) Seyer; and grandson, Derek (Jessica) Baker; great-grandchildren, Stefanie, Allison, Jacob, Sara, Lyle, Samuel, Curtis and Nichole; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Nelson Berna Funeral Home Chapel, 4520 N. Crossover Road, Fayetteville. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time.
