Suzanne "Sue" Downing Kerr, 73, of Rogers, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012. She was born Oct. 11, 1938, in Omaha, Neb., daughter of the late Dr. Roy Raymond Platz and Frances Foote Platz. Sue attended Doane College, in Crete, Neb., graduating from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Soon after, she married and moved to New York, where she was employed by Sloan Kettering Cancer Research. In 1974, she relocated to Bay Village, Ohio, where she obtained her real estate license, working for various agencies over the next 15 years. An avid bridge player and volunteer, she donated her time and talents to numerous organizations. In 1994, she moved to Rogers, Ark., working at the War Eagle Mill, designing the displays for Frisco Days and volunteering at the Rogers Library. She was a master gardener and enjoyed birding, gardening, fishing and the outdoors. She is survived by three children, Katherine Moran of Avon Lake, Ohio, Kimberly Banks (Alan) of Columbus, Ohio, and Douglas Kerr (Maureen) of Medina, Ohio; loving sister to William Platz (Sherrie) of Rogers; and the grandmother to four: Elizabeth, Aiden, Evan and Gavin. A memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2012, at Stockdale-Moody Chapel in Rogers, with Father David Benham officiating. Following the service, the flowers will be donated to Jamestown Nursing & Rehab in appreciation. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services of Rogers.
