Agnes Hodges Mikles, of Booneville, Ark., widow of J.P. Mikles Jr. was born Nov. 29,1920 in Booneville, Ark. She passed from this life Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Fort Smith, Ark. Agnes was the daughter of Claud H. Hodges and Ethel Jones Hodges. She was the fifth of seven children, five girls and two boys. She is survived by one son, Perry Mikles III of Booneville, with whom she made her home for the past 17 years; two sisters, Mildred Gannaway of Albuquerque, N.M. and Eulema Hughes and husband Grover of Booneville; two granddaughters, Rachel Mikles Robinson and husband Scott of Russellville, Ark. and Jennifer L. Mikles of Russellville; one great-grandson, Parker Jacob Robinson of Russellville; two nieces and four nephews. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Booneville for almost 80 years. She was the past president of the Booneville Garden Club. She was a lifelong Democrat and loved politics. Her favorite pastimes included reading and sports. She was a die hard Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys fan. The funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Booneville with Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Toby Talley officiating. The burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home. The pallbearers will be Johnny Williams, John Ed Chambers, Aaron Littlefield, H.B. Griffey, Bobby Stephens, James "Sonny" Whitaker, Jarod Gossett and Gene Remy. Honorary Pallbearer will be Jeral Hampton.
