Freita Mae Link, 86, passed away on Feb. 14, 2012. Mrs. Link was born on Oct. 28, 1925, in Ewing, Ill. She was the daughter of Orval and Dora Mae Jenkins. She was a longtime resident of Siloam Springs, Ark., moving to the area with her family in 1971. Freita led a very active life and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed many activities, including bowling, Mexican Train dominoes and playing bridge. She also loved to travel. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Siloam Springs. Freita and her late husband, Harry, owned and operated the KN Root Beer Drive-In in Sherman, Texas, from 1963 to 1971. After moving to Siloam Springs, she owned and operated Freita's Fashionette, a ladies clothing store, for 23 years. Freita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry Link, who passed away in 1981; and a sister, Barbara Jean Grogg. She is survived by brothers, Truman Jenkins of Iuka, Ill., and Marvin Jenkins of Odin, Ill. She is also survived by her three children, Greg Link and wife, Sharon, of Houston, Alaska, Stan Link and wife, Alisa, of Sherman, Texas, and Melanie Gray and husband, Randy, of Siloam Springs, Ark. She was the proud Mema of six grandchildren, Jennifer Reed of Sherman, Texas, Nicole LeBlanc of Allen, Texas, Matt Link of Sachse, Texas, Sarah Thomas of Siloam Springs Ark., Nate Link of Anchorage, Alaska, and Amanda Bynum of Fort Smith, Ark.; and nine great-grandchildren, Peyton, Emma, Makenna, Ellie, Preston, Haley, Ethan, Carson, and Pearson. Wasson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Family visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Wasson Funeral Home, Siloam Springs, Ark. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Wasson Memorial Chapel, with Dean Boyer officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.
