Eve Dilley Irwin

Eve Dilley Irwin, 80, of Pine Bluff died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012 in Pine Bluff. Born in Little Rock, Ark., June 29, 1931, the daughter of Edward S. and Myrtle Smith Dilley. Eve was reared in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School where she was a cheerleader and Band Queen. She attended Mary Baldwin College and the University of Arkansas where she was president of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married Raymond A. Irwin, Jr., MD June 4, 1962 in Texarkana, Ark. Dr. Irwin died in 2004. A member of Trinity Episcopal Church, she was a sustaining member and past president of the Junior League of Pine Bluff, member and past president of Junior Sesame, member of the Mathontes Club, and member of the Bridge Club that has met for 50 years but hasn't played bridge in 40. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Lander Dilley and Mr. and Mrs. Francis M. Smith. Her survivors include five children, Lyn (Ric) Webb of Little Rock, Jan Dilley Irwin, Scott (Marilyn) Irwin, Ray (Gabriela) Irwin and Rob (Lee Lee) Irwin of Houston, Texas. She has eight grandchildren, Raymond Scott Gaddis, Lander Dilley Irwin, Robert Alexander Irwin, William Carter Irwin, Carson Hayes Irwin, Sarah Evelyn Irwin, Robert Scott (Bud) Irwin, and Alexandra Favre Irwin. Funeral services are Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. Interment follows at Graceland Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.
