Owen R. Clardy

Owen R. Clardy, 74, died Dec. 28, 2012, in Springdale. He was born in Lowell, Ark., on June 11, 1938, to the late Ray and Eula Belle (Owen) Clardy. He served in the Air Force and Army. He retired from Walmart, Location No. 6008, at age 72 in 2010. Owen was a good Christian man who loved teaching Sunday school at the Unity Missionary Baptist Church and also held leadership positions in the church. He was proud to be a father and grandfather to his family for 41 years. Owen is survived by his wife of 41 years, Christine (Mattes) Clardy of Bentonville; sons, Fred Clardy of Garfield, Jeffrey Clardy of Fayetteville, Johnathon Clardy of Rogers, Stephan Clardy of Boonville; daughter, Kimberly Brunelle of Connecticut; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Joe Clardy. His funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel. He will be buried at Rogers City Cemetery.
