Billy Leroy Harrell

Billy Leroy Harrell was born Sept. 3, 1934, in Faulkner Gap, Ark., to Willis and Pearl (Pearson) Harrell. On Dec. 29, 2012, at Bradford House in Bentonville, Bill lost his long battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Bill was raised in Pulaski County and graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1953. At 17 he joined the Arkansas Army National Guard. He remained in the "Guard" for the next 43 years, also working as a civilian employee for 35 years. Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha (Gregg) Harrell; two children, daughter, Donna & son-in-law, David Davis, of Bentonville and son, Stacey & wife, Linda Harrell, of Vilonia; four grandchildren, Steven & wife, Holly Davis, Ashley & husband, Josh Stewart, of Bentonville, Scott Harrell of Vilonia, and Sara & husband, Branson Sutter, of Conway; one great-grandchild, Annalynn Sutter of Conway; and two sisters, Felece Gassman of North Little Rock and Martha Ann Robinson of Morrilton. He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Harrell, mother, Pearl Cherry and one sister, Yvonne Cagle. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home, in Bentonville, Ark., from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Bentonville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72765. The family would like to thank the staff at Bradford House for the wonderful, loving care they gave to Bill. Also, Circle of Life Hospice for making the end of life easier for all the family to accept. Arrangements are under the care of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.
