Frank Coker Jr., 91, of Fayetteville died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. He was born Dec. 26, 1920, in New Holland, Ga., to Frank and Adeline Hawkins Coker. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fayetteville where he served as deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II; and preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Louise Coker. He is survived by three sons, Jim Coker and his wife, Anne, of Fayetteville, Ark., Luke Coker and his wife, Patty, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kevin Coker and his wife, Julienne, of San Francisco, Calif.; two sisters, Jean Backus of Atlanta, Ga., Esther Orr of Lexington, S.C.; one granddaughter, Erin Zalman; two step-granddaughters, Lindsey Slagle and Blythe McCauley; and three step-great-grandchildren, Cora Grace Slagle, Madeleine Slagle and Hadley Slagle. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at Moore's Chapel, with burial of ashes at Fayetteville National Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
