Doris Doty Lancaster

Doris Doty Lancaster, 77, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Circle of Life Hospice - Legacy Village at Bentonville. Doris, affectionately known by her family as "Sis," was born in Greenville, Miss., to her parents, Houston D. Doty and Katherine Lucille Thompson Doty. She loved to cook, and it was well known among family and friends that she would always have a delicious meal prepared on Sunday afternoon. In 1997 she moved to Bella Vista from Greenville, Miss. She attended New Life Fellowship in Pea Ridge. She was a member of the Pilot Club International for many years and in 1990 she was presented Woman of the Year Award by the governor of Mississippi for the volunteer work she did in her community. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Katherine Doty-Fulton. She is survived by two sons, Grant Lancaster of Rogers, Ark., David Lancaster and wife, Amy, of Rogers, Ark.; daughter, Kathy Vance of Rogers, Ark.; one brother, Hugh Doty and wife, Martha, of Lake Village, Ark.; and two grandchildren, Kaylee Vance and Tyler Lancaster. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. with funeral service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at the Bella Vista Funeral Home Chapel, 2258 Forest Hills Blvd., Bella Vista, Ark. Burial will be at the Bella Vista Cemetery. The family appreciated the loving dare rendered to Doris at the Circle of Life Hospice.
