Joe Russell Gude

Joe Russell "Jodie" Gude left this world peacefully Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the age of 61.
Joe was predeceased by his father, Joe H. Gude; his mother, Velma; stepmother, Mattie Lee; and half-brother, Jimmie Gude.
Joe is survived by his wife, Suzanne Kennedy, and daughter, Grace Gude, of Fayetteville, Ark.; Grace's late mother, Kay Campbell Gude's family; late mother Velma's family; late stepmother Mattie Lee's family; many friends; and his beloved Golden Retriever and loyal companion, McCoy.
Joe was born in Blytheville, Ark. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service. Most of his adult life was spent in Fayetteville. After his retirement in 2007, Joe loved working and gardening on his property and relaxing with family and friends. He was a lifelong fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks, and was well known for his generous and compassionate spirit, unique sense of humor and extraordinary love for life. He will be forever cherished and greatly missed.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Joe's devoted friends, to Circle of Life Hospice and to Geshe Thupten Dorjee for their support and care of Joe in his final days.
