Ellen Elizabeth McCamey

Ellen Elizabeth McCamey, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012. Ellen was born on Aug. 12, 1926, in Springdale, Ark., to James Clarence "Clint" McCoy and Mary Alice Kennan. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ervin Eugene McCamey; and her parents, Clint and Mary McCoy. She is survived by her four children, Barbara Ludwig and husband, Stanley, James McCamey and wife, Brenda, Nancy Chaney and husband, Robert, and Mary Kelly and husband, George. Ellen also leaves behind five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Ellen graduated from nursing school in 1974 and retired after a 20-year career in nursing where she compassionately cared for patients in the emergency room and the intensive care unit. She loved being a nurse and her dedication to the field was unparalleled. Most important to Ellen though was her family. She was a wonderful cook who was always excited to feed her large family, plus anyone who wanted to attend her dinners. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Westfield Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Westfield Chapel. Interment will follow in Elm Springs Cemetery. Condolences may be offered at www.westfieldchapel.com.
